55 more properties sealed in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Continuing its sealing drive, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Wednesday sealed 55 more commercial properties in the Capital. Fifteen premises were sealed in South Zone in and around Malviya Nagar.

In Shahdara (South), 14 premises were sealed. Nine were sealed in Civil Lines Zone and six each in Central Zone and Rohini Zone. Five properties were sealed in Shahdara (North) Zone.

MCD invites nominations

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has invited nominations for the posts of Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the MCD Standing Committee, elections to which will be held on May 3. Candidates can file their nominations latest by April 30.

Meanwhile, 18 members of the Standing Committee have already been elected. While six members have been elected by the MCD House, the remaining 12 have been elected from each of the 12 wards.

Power supply

to be affected

NEW DELHI: Power supply from BSES will be affected between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in some areas of South Delhi on Thursday in view of up-gradation and maintenance work at the Alaknanda Grid.

The areas likely to be affected are S Block, Greater Kailash-II; parts of W Block Greater Kailash-II; NRI Block, Mandakini Enclave; Deshbandhu Apartments; Kaveri Apartments and Shivalik Apartments.

Essay contest

NEW DELHI: As part of Amity Human Values Week celebrations, the Amity Institute of English and Business Communications organised an essay competition on "Universal human values pose an answer to the contemporary materialistic world", here on Wednesday. The objective was to provide an opportunity to students to express their thoughts on human values. About 200 students from various Amity institutes and other schools participated in the competition. The results will be announced this Friday.

"Circus of the Mind"

NEW DELHI: Sir Ganga Ram Hospital along with the World Academy of Spiritual Sciences is organising a discourse by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasdev at FICCI Auditorium here on Thursday.

He will speak on "Circus of the Mind". Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will be the chief guest while Indian Council of Cultural Relations Chairman Karan Singh will be a special guest.
