Crisis in Telangana Rashtra Samithi
N. Rahul
HYDERABAD:
The emigration racket centring around members of Parilament across States triggered a major political crisis in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) too with several of its leaders facing accusations about their involvement.
In particular, these accusations have widened the existing gulf between TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his lieutenant A. Narendra who has been accused by his own partymen of misusing his position when he was Union Minister. Several TRS leaders also made a beeline to TV studios to issue denials about their involvement.
Ripples were created in the party earlier by the disclosure of Sunder Lal Yadav, arrested by Delhi police in the racket, that a secretary of Mr. Rao by name Murthy was an accomplice in the crime. Mr. Rao denied engaging anyone as Murthy as his personal secretary.
