KARIMNAGAR: Government Whip D. Sridhar Babu has flayed Telugu Desam Party leaders for politicising the Babli project issue for gaining mileage in the Telangana region by organising dharnas and rallies. Addressing a press a conference here on Wednesday, he found fault with the TDP leaders for misleading people with their false propaganda against State Government over the issue. He said that the State Government was taking all necessary measures to stop the illegal Babli project by pressuring the Centre and also by approaching the Supreme Court. He said that the State would secure interim stay on the illegal Babli project. He suggested that the TDP leaders should stage dharnas against the Maharashtra Government for constructing illegal project and caning the rank and file of their party leaders instead of making false allegations against the State Government.
Apology sought
He ridiculed the TDP leaders for the proposed dharna programme in New Delhi for gaining mileage. Demanding the TDP leaders to apologise for not reacting to the illegal Babli project when in power, he said that the tenders for the Babli project were called in the year 2001 when the TDP was in power in the State. He also flayed the TDP Government for not stopping the Alamati project in Karnataka State to protect the interests of Andhra Pradesh. DCC president T. Santosh Kumar was also present.
