KARIMNAGAR: Denial of berth in the State cabinet to the Government Whip D. Sridhar Babu evoked widespread protests and dharnas in entire Manthani Assembly segment on Wednesday evening. Local Congress leaders staged a dharna and rasta roko on the busy road and raised slogans against Chief Minister Y. S. Rajashekhara Reddy, Government advisor K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, Peddapalli MP G. Venkataswamy for denying Minister berth to Mr. Sridhar. Manthani market committee chairman Azim Khan, Dhanwada sarpanch T.V. Ramana and Congress leader P. Ramaswamy tonsured their heads and presented `pinda pradhanam' to the Chief Minister. They also threatened to resign en masseThe local Congress leaders have flayed the Chief Minister for not nominating a young and dynamic politician in the State cabinet.
