KARIMNAGAR: To express solidarity with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, who have launched indefinite fast in Hyderabad demanding the stoppage of illegal Babli project, the BJP has decided to intensify its agitation in the entire north Telangana region and command area of SRSP. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, BJP State vice-president Baddam Bal Reddy said that his party leaders would stage a `rasta-roko' on Thursday in all district headquarters of entire north Telangana region demanding the Government to stop illegal project. Later, the `rasta-roko' programmes would be organised in mandal headquarters on April 27.
State flayed
He flayed the State Government for not taking any measures to stop the illegal project and protect the interests of Telangana region. He alleged that Maharashtra was drawing about 100 tmcft of Godavari waters by constructing illegal projects on the river.
Plea to Centre
He asked the Union Government to remove the Maharashtra Chief Minister from his post and impose President's rule to protect the interests of Andhra Pradesh. BJP leaders - D. Venkataramana Reddy, D. Sridhar, Srikar and M. Venkateshwara Reddy were also present.
