BERHAMPUR: Administration ordered closure of residential high school for girls at Daringbadi in Kandhamal district indefinitely following unruly scenes by the students. The students were boycotting classes and continuing demonstrations demanding cancellation of transfer order of the in-charge head master of the school Devaraj Sahu, who has been continuing in the post for the last three years. But the girls had misbehaved with their new head master Hemalata Mishra posted to the school and even allegedly cut off a portion of her hair. The unruly students had even poured kerosene on Ms Mishra threatening to burn her on Monday. They were not ready to allow Ms Mishra to take charge for some mysterious reasons.
Police forces deployed
Receiving information about it two platoons of police and a magistrate were sent to the school. But the team could not find Mr Sahu as he had absconded. Search of rooms used by Mr Sahu revealed pornographic VCDs and packs of condoms. To avoid further escalation of tension, after taking charge Ms Mishra called up all parents of students of the school and handed over the girls to them in the presence of police and administrative officials. The school was also closed till further notice. Police deployment at the school was removed on Wednesday morning after all girls vacated the hostels. According to Baliguda Sub-Collector B.K.Mohapatra a thorough investigation was taken up into charges against Mr Sahu
