CUTTACK: Revenue Minister Manmohan Samal on Wednesday called upon revenue officials to remain alert in protecting the Government land and settle all pending civil disputes pertaining to encroachment of government land. Speaking at a meeting of revenue officials in which collectors of all the 10 districts under central revenue division were present, the Minister emphasised on immediate rehabilitation of people ousted for industrial purposes. He asked the officials to expedite the distribution of land passbooks and computerisation of tehsil offices soon.The meeting chaired under the revenue divisional commissioner (central range) Suresh Mohapatra, the collectors discussed the steps to be taken to rehabilitate the people during natural calamities.

Guidelines

In view of the scorching heat sweeping across the state now, Mr. Mohapatra called upon all the officials to ensure that all the guidelines issued to mitigate the problem were strictly adhered to.

In view of reports of blatant violation of rescheduling of working hours for labourers during the day time,Mr. Mohapatra called upon the officials to ensure that nobody is asked to work under direct sunlight from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

He also stressed upon the availability of sufficient drinking water in both urban and rural areas during the ongoing summer season.
