Murder in broad daylight

CHENNAI : An armed gang murdered a person in broad daylight in Mannadi police station limits on Wednesday.

Police said the victim Veera alias Veeramani was the main accused in the murder of Badri alias Badrinarayanan in 2004. Veera was having lunch at a restaurant, along with his accomplice, when the gang, allegedly consisting of relatives and friends of Badri chased and hacked him to death.

Search launched

He died on the spot. Police have sent the body for post-mortem, and have launched a search for the accused. Mannadi police are investigating.
