Passport adalats every month

CHENNAI:
Passport authorities are planning to hold open houses/passport adalats every month, Sumathi Ravichandran, Regional Passport Officer, Chennai, said on Tuesday.
Briefing presspersons here, she said that earlier they conducted adalats once in three months. Now they would hold open houses every month, along with police officials, to redress public grievances. Admitting that the passport office was not spacious enough to accommodate the increased number of visitors, Ms. Ravichandran said a building on Anna Salai had been identified. The Regional Passport Office would move to the new premises within a year. Ms. Ravichandran requested the applicants not to approach middlemen./touts.
