Move to withdraw HRA of spouse flayed
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
The city unit of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has opposed the Government's move to withdraw the house rent allowance to one of the spouses if a couple was getting the benefit.
N. Narasimha Reddy, president, and J. Venkatesh, general secretary, in a statement issued here on Wednesday alleged that the Government was collecting details of such couples. It was planning to withhold April salary to those who did not comply with the directive, they said.
Describing the decision as `anti-employee', they urged the Government not to go ahead with the proposal. Otherwise, the employees would be forced to agitate.
