KOCHI: Steps will be taken to complete the Edathala housing project, said M.C. Josephine, the new chairperson of the Greater Cochin Development Authority. She was interacting with mediapersons after assuming office here on Wednesday. Immediate efforts will be taken to tackle traffic and garbage issues in concurrence with the work by the Corporation, she said. Satellite townships will be constructed and development works in the IT sector taken up in tune with the Government policy. Priority will be given to providing houses to financially weaker sections in west Kochi, Ms. Josephine said. Deputy Mayor C.K. Manisankar was among those present to welcome her. Mr. Manisankar also presented a memorandum highlighting issues like completion of the Chilavanoor bund road, extending Panampilly Nagar Road up to Thevara, construction of four multi-storeyed parking centres for improving traffic and pay-and-use toilets along the main roads.
