KOLKATA: Last year's semifinalist in the boys' section Punjab failed to qualify for the knockout phase from Group `D' as rank outsider Nagaland booked its berth along with West Bengal in the 29th sub-junior National volleyball championship at the WBVA courts here on Thursday.

Both West Bengal and Nagaland will play for the group championship on Friday.

Rajasthan, seventh last year, and Kerala, ranked eighth coming into this tournament, also bowed out. Tamil Nadu boys' team took the top spot in Group A by winning all its group league matches.
