Athletes for State meet announced

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad district athletes to take part in the State senior athletic meet to be held at the GMC Balayogi Stadium here on April 28 and 29 have been named here on Thursday.

The list:

Men: Amir Saleem, Phaninder Reddy, P. Srinivas Rao, Bharath Kumar, G. Naresh, K. Suresh, G. Nishanth Reddy, G. Madhusudhan Reddy, B. Ramesh, J. Rajnikanth, Nagakamal, Rafath Mehdi Ali Khan, G. Srikanth Reddy, Preetham Reddy, D. Naveen Kumar and R. Raju.

Women: G. Monica, K. Mrudula, S.S. Anusha, P. Girija, R. Rajyalaxmi, S. Nikhitha, V. Usha Rani, P. Rajitha, G. Madhuri, J. Swaroopa, G. Bharathi and Tejaswi.

Preparations reviewed

D. Muralikrishna, VC and MD of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, along with the Regional Deputy Directors and the District Sports Development Officers, reviewed preparations for the conduct of the annual summer coaching camps, which are to commence soon, here on Thursday.

The top officials, through a videoconference, stressed on the importance of providing the best of facilities to the trainees across the State.

"The uniqueness of these camps is that unlike other such events which are confined to certain pockets, SAAP makes serious efforts to see that the infrastructure in the districts is at the disposal of the enthusiastic youngsters even in remote areas," he explained.

AITA tournament

The Alan Tennis Academy (Domalguda) will organise Kedia's all-India Talent Series tennis tournament for boys and girls in the age groups of u-12 and 14 from April 30 to May 4 at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here. Spot entries are also accepted before the commencement of the qualifying rounds on April 28 and 29.
