Kumar hits century

Karaikudi: Anjan Kumar's century (102, 18x4) and a breezy 57 by Chandrasekar helped Aruna Sports Cricket Club carve out a 144-run victory over Moonlight Winners Cricket Club in the Sivagangai District Cricket Association First Division league here recently.

The scores: First Division: Aruna Sports CC 249 in 35.5 overs (Anjan Kumar 102, Chandrasekar 57) bt Moonlight Winners CC 105 in 20 overs (Anand 43, Kasi Viswanathan four for 20); Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology 73 in 23.5 overs (Ramachandran four for 14) lost to Aruna Sports CC 74 for three in 11.3 overs; TCP Limited Koviloor 255 for seven in 40 overs (Jalaludeen 77, Balasubramanian 45 n.o., Bharathi four for 34) bt Moonlight Winners CC 80 in 14.5 overs (Muruganandtham four for 11); Sachin Brothers CC 154 in 29.3 overs (Satheesh four for 34) lost to Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology 155 for nine in 28 overs.

Second Division: Senshare CC 62 in 16.4 overs (Jothi Ganesh four for nine, Meyyan five for 15) lost to Leaders CC 66 for one in 10.2 overs; Sekkalai CC 156 in 26.5 overs (C.S. Anand 59, Sivachandran four for 20, Ganesh four for 20) bt Big Birds Brindhavanam CC 79 in 20 overs (Arivazhagan five for 22); Sekkalai CC 211 for nine in 29 overs (Senthilarasan 81, C.S.
