Regional boards are of no use: TDP

BJP says Cabinet expanded with an eye on elections

HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party has likened the Cabinet expansion as a "late marriage," and that the "baby born out of such a marriage could be anything but healthy".

Addressing a press conference, party spokesman, M. V. Mysoora Reddy, MP, said the expansion came late in the day, after three long years and after the Government functioning was paralysed totally. On the formation of the Regional Boards, he said nothing would come of it as they were created to rehabilitate those who could not be provided a Cabinet berth. "Expecting anything worthwhile from these boards will be nothing short of a dream. "

`Disappointing'

BJP State President Bandaru Dattatreya on Thursday said the Cabinet expansion had disappointed those who expected that people with talent and experience would be taken, specially after `three years of dismal performance.'

In a statement, he said Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had again proved that administration and welfare of socially deprived sections of society did not matter to him and that individual and personal interests took prominence.
