KOZHIKODE: A regional conference of Swadeshi and Gandhian workers will be organised here on Friday as part of the centenary celebrations of Satyagraha struggle. Gandhian activists from Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts will attend the one-day meet which will focus on the constructive aspect of Satyagraha. Gandhi Peace Foundation all-India vice-chairman and founder of Ekata Parishad P.V. Rajagopal will inaugurate the programme. K.T. Raghavan, chairman, Gandhi Peace Foundation, Kozhikode, will preside over the function. The conference aims at streamlining the activities of the Swadeshi movements and Gandhian activities. A discussion on the Swadeshi conceptwill be organised as part of the conference. Palakkad Cooperative Hospital chairman K.A. Chandran, CAPART member Satheeshan Pacheni, Gandhi Centre for Rural Development chairman T. Mathew Philip, Rajiv Gandhi Cultural and Educational Trust chairman and Public Service Commission member R.S. Panicker, Wayanad Sarvodaya Mandalam secretary P. Kesavan Nair, Kannur Mahatma Mandiram president K.P.A. Rahim, Madhya Nirodhana Samithi secretary Eyyacheri Kunhukrishnan, Kerala Grama Nirmana Samithi secretary P.V. Venugopal and Kozhikode Sarvodaya Mandalam president T. Balakrishnan will attend.
