No adverse effect on party over emigration issue: TRS MLA

Staff Reporter

  • Narendra kept passports of two party MPs with him for five months
  • The MPs got calls from British and Japanese Embassies during May 2006

NIZAMABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA and party district convenor E. Ravinder Reddy hailed the action against his party senior leader A. Narendra by TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao and said there would not be any adverse effect on the party and movement due to suspension of the erring MP.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Reddy said the leadership had no option but to take action against Mr. Narendra as prima facie his involvement in the creation of fake passport to get visa for sending some persons abroad was proved. It was a very grievous crime and tantamount to treason.

Mr. Narendra kept the passports of two party MPs -- D. Ravinder Naik and N. Madhusudhan Reddy -- with him for five months and returned them only when they strongly insisted. The two MPs had come to know about the "misuse" of their passports only after they got calls from British and Japanese Embassies during May 2006.

Mr. Naik immediately lodged complaints with the Intelligence IG and the Regional Passport Officer. On the enquiry, Mr. Narendra's guiltiness was proved, he said and added that two to three TRS rebel MLAs were also involved in the offence.

Mr. Reddy said some more facts would come to light in the investigation soon and alleged even the Congress, the TDP MLAs, MPs and former Ministers were also in the scam.

He said senior leader Narendra's suspension would strengthen the party rather than weakening it.

Another TRS leader E. Satyanarayana also hailed the party's decision to suspend Mr. Narendra.

    Appeal

He appealed to youth, retired employees and people at large to attend the party's `Vishwaroopa Sadassu' at Warangal on April 28 in a big way and make it a great success.

TRS leaders -- J. Bapu Reddy, A. Ganga Reddy, K. Asanna, Jeevan Reddy and A.S. Posetty -- attended.
