NEW DELHI: Three persons have been arrested by the Narcotics and Crime Prevention Cell of the Delhi police in two separate cases of alleged drug trafficking. Around 600 gm of heroin valued at Rs. 6 lakh in the international market has allegedly been seized. The police received a tip-off that two persons carrying a large quantity of the contraband would meet near a crematorium in Seemapuri. A trap was laid and 35-year-old Mohan and 40-year-old Shamshad Ahmad were arrested and 500 gm of high quality heroin was seized from them, the police said. During interrogation, Mohan purportedly told the police that he was a farmer in Madhya Pradesh. Shamshad is a tailor by profession and took to crime to pay off debt, the police said. In a separate case, 50-year-old Prem Kumar of Subhash Nagar was arrested allegedly with 100 gm of heroin.
