Mild tension in Moghalpura, Shahalibanda

HYDERABAD: Mild tension prevailed in Moghalpura and Shahalibanda on Thursday when a mob damaged two RTC buses in protest against the suspension of Medak Lok Sabha member from Telangana Rashtra Samiti, A.Narendra.

Police arrested six persons, including Mr. Narendra's son Jitendra and ex-corporator Shankar, in connection with the incident. All the six arrested persons were remanded to judicial custody.

Supporters of Mr. Narendra, led by his son, initially tried to take out a procession from the old city to the MLA Quarters in Adarshnagar, South Zone DCP Kantha Rao said. They, however, resorted to violence by pelting stones at a bus soon after assembling at Moghalpura in the morning.

From there, the agitators went to Shahalibanda, intercepted another bus, forced the passengers to get down and broke its windows, creating panic in the area.

On seeing the police, the protestors tried to flee. Police caught six of them after a chase.
