PG medical seats: court wants issue re-examined
Legal Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
Justice Subash Reddy of the High Court on Thursday directed the authorities to re-examine the issue of admissions to the general medicine branch in post-graduate medical courses of Osmania Medical College.
The judge was dealing with a writ petition filed by Sudhakar and others. The petitioners complained that the non-locals who could compete only for one seat had been allotted more than six seats, which was in violation of the Presidential Order. The petitioners complained that the meritorious candidates among the local candidates had been denied seats, which belong to them as per the Presidential Order.
The judge directed the NTR University of Health Sciences to look into the issue and take corrective steps if the allegations were found to be true.
