One killed, two injured in clash

Thiruvananthapuram: A 32-year-old man was killed and two others injured in a clash between two groups at Azhoor in Chirayinkeezh police station limits on Wednesday. The police identified the deceased as Biju of Paravur in Kollam. The injured were Sunil Kumar and his son, Sudheesh Kumar. The police suspect the three were attacked by a criminal gang at the behest of one their neighbours. — Staff Reporter

Meat seized

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The meat squad of the City Corporation on Thursday seized 750 kg of beef and 50 kg of mutton from various illegal abattoirs operating in Karamana, Poojappura, Vattiyoorkavu, Peroorkada, Ulloor, Valiathura, Pazhanchira and Kesavadasapuram. Stringent action would be initiated against those who indulge in illegal meat trading, corporation secretary T.K. Raveendran said. The raid was led by senior veterinary surgeon L. Ravikumar and health inspectors Latheef and S. Muralidharan Nair. — Staff Reporter
