United Bank plans `aggressive' branch spread

KOLKATA : United Bank of India, which opened just seven branches in 2006-07, is planning to roll out 41 more by June 2007, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, P. K. Gupta said. Addressing a press conference, he said the bank closed 2006-07 with a 32 per cent growth in business, which touched Rs. 59,808 crore. While deposits grew by 27 per cent, advances increased by 41.8 per cent touching Rs. 22,641 crore.
