MANGALORE: Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said here on Friday that he was appealing again to his Tamil Nadu counterpart M. Karunanidhi to come forward to resolve the Cauvery dispute through talks. Mr. Kumaraswamy told presspersons that the discussions should be based on the actual availability of water in the Cauvery basin. It was probably not possible to settle the dispute through court or tribunal. If the dispute was settled through mutual discussion it could be possible to convince farmers of the two States, he said. The Chief Minister said that all those who talk about Cauvery dispute knew the availability of water in Cauvery basin.
