Tirunelveli: Kerala drubbed Puducherry 7-0 in its last match of the four-team league of the 16th South Zone youth National football championship, organised by the Tirunelveli District Football Association, at the Anna Stadium, Palayamkottai, on Friday. Kerala finished at the top with seven points (two wins and a draw), while Puducherry finished at the bottom without any win. The other teams, Tamil Nadu (four points) and Karnataka (three points), meet in the last match and the result will decide the winner. If Tamil Nadu wins the match, it will have seven points and the winner will be decided between Kerala (nine goals) and Tamil Nadu (six goals) on goal difference. Tamil Nadu should win by at least a four-goal margin to come out the winner and qualify for the Nationals final at Assam. Kerala meant business from the start, but the ground conditions were not good because of the intermittent showers during the first-half. Farhad (third, 69th), Vineeth (28th, 71st) and Dhanesh (57th, 87th) scored a brace each and Tinson (81st) netted one for Kerala.
