CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has upgraded 300 government schools during the current academic session, Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana said here on Friday. He said 120 government middle schools had been upgraded to high schools and 180 high schools to senior secondary schools. The State Government, he added, had taken special measures to improve the physical and teaching environment of the schools. A total of Rs. 26.85 crore had been spent on repairs, maintenance and upgrading of the schools during the past two years. Also, Rs. 39 crore had been spent from the Haryana Rural Development Fund for special repairs at the schools. He said all school buildings would be electrified. To provide proper and comfortable sitting arrangements for the students of high and senior schools, a scheme of dual desks had been launched. The science laboratories had been upgraded to develop scientific temperament among the students.
