ANANTAPUR: The Crime Control Station police on Thursday arrested five of the 10-member inter-State gang allegedly involved in deceiving people with fake gold coins. The police recovered four kg of fake gold coins, a copper vessel and Rs.14,000 in cash from the arrested persons. Giving details to newspersons, Anantapur Deputy Superintendent of Police G.S. Karunakar stated that the gang had met a jeweller Rashid of old town 10 days ago and offered him gold coins at a cheap rate. Accordingly, the gang arrived on Thursday to deceive the jeweller but the information reached the CCS police. Led by CCS Inspector A. Srinivasulu, One Town SI Shubha Kumar and his team arrested the five accused.
