Sify opens tech centre in city

Centre to focus on IT infrastructure management services

HYDERABAD:
The city technology centre of internet services provider, Sify Ltd., was inaugurated by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy near the Secretariat here on Friday.
Dr. Reddy went round the centre, spread over 24,000 sq. ft. Information and Public Relations Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy and Raju Vegesna, CEO and Managing Director of the company, were present.
Mr. Raju Vegesna later told press persons that the company planned to invest Rs.4-5 crore in the centre and provide employment to 400-500 persons. He said the centre would focus on IT infrastructure management services, as also on developing the industry's network management applications and tools.
"We plan to tap the high quality technology talent of Hyderabad to deliver next generation services and solutions to both domestic and international clients," he added. S. Bhaskar, Chief Technical Officer, said Sify had 3,500 cyber cafes located in 175 cities, with 2,15,000 home customers.
