HYDERABAD:
About 500 Muslim youth from Old City and Khairatabad Assembly constituency joined the Telugu Desam in the presence of its president N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Thursday.
Addressing the packed hall at the party office, a visibly happy Mr. Naidu said their decision showed dissatisfaction among different sections of the people with the Government. Welcoming them to the party, he offered party scarves to two of their leaders, Mohammed Arif and Mohammed Atiq.
More and more people were getting attracted to the party, as development had come to a standstill under the Congress rule.
They now know how the previous TDP Government had developed the city and saw to it that youth get employment in IT companies and ensured that there was no communal trouble.
He added that budget for minorities' welfare was raised from Rs. 2 crores to Rs. 60 crores and second language status was given for Urdu in 13 districts.
The International Airport was located at Shamshabad to give a fillip to the development of Old City.
