SHEFFIELD: Anthony Hamilton won the all-English clash against Ian McCulloch 13-8 to seal his berth in the last eight at the snooker world championships here on Saturday. The pair was locked together at 8-8 when play resumed on Saturday before Hamilton reeled off wins in the first five frames of Saturday's second session to earn his first quarterfinal appearance since 2004. On Friday, former winner Shaun Murphy became the first player to reach the quarterfinals when he beat John Parrott 13-8 on Friday. The English duo was tied at 8-8 before Murphy reeled off five frames in a row to set up a meeting with Matthew Stevens or Mark Allen.
