BHUBANESWAR: The government has constituted a high-power task force under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Ajit Kumar Tripathy to identify bottlenecks for setting up of Unit-III and Unit-IV of IB thermal project. "The task force has been asked to submit its report within 15 days. The team will look into all contentious issues with an eye on commencing power generation within 20 months to 30 months," State Energy Minister Surya Narayan Patro told reporters here on Saturday.
Joint venture
OPGC, a joint venture between American Power major AES Corporation and the State Government, has been operating two units with capacity of 210 mw and 210 mw each at IB Valley in Jharsuguda district. However, dispute in power purchase agreement had stalled the starting up of Unit 3 and Unit 4. Mr. Patro said the two units would have capacity to generate1,000 mw power.
