A woman was killed and 30 persons, including security personnel, were injured in a grenade attack in Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. No militant outfit has owned responsibility.
According to the police, militants hurled a grenade near a bus stand. Thirty persons were injured, Superintendent of Police, Awantipore, Sardar Khan told The Hindu. The police, CRPF and BSF personnel in the area could have been the target, he said. "The situation is under control now and we have launched a manhunt to nab the militants." Injured civilians were brought to hospitals here. A woman died later. A report claimed that a passenger bus carrying supporters of the National Conference to Srinagar for a rally was the target.
