Guillotine applied

NEW DELHI: In a special session on a holiday, the Lok Sabha on Saturday applied the guillotine to vote for the Demands for Grants amounting to Rs. 23,59,175 crore for the fiscal year 2007-08. All the demands, approved by voice vote, related to Ministries which were taken up without any discussion.

Due to paucity of time, the House applied the guillotine after discussions in Home Affairs and Science and Technology Departments and then took up all the demands for voting at 6 p .m.
