Vishwanath, Preetham share honours

Coimbatore: T.K. Vishwanath (Team Yamaha) and Preetham Dev Moses (Team TVS) had a win each in the Group `C' two-stroke 150cc premium class in the opening leg of the Ucal Rolon National road racing championship for two wheelers at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam near here on Sunday.

Vishwanath, who was well below his best last season, sprung a surprise in the season's opener by outwitting Team TVS riders Preetham and K. Rajini for the top spot. In the second race, however, Preetham gained his revenge.

Easy outing

In the Group `D' four-stroke 80 to 110cc and Group `B' four-stroke 160cc categories it was a virtual stroll in the park for Ashwin Sunder.

The Chennai youngster finished the day on a memorable note by clinching a triple title, much to the excitement of his team in which he is riding for the first time.

S. Shankar stole the thunder in the novice class pocketing four titles, while P. Rajani and R. Deepak shared honours in the Group `B' four-stroke 250cc category.
