J.G. Murali
HYDERABAD: Visakhapatnam (Rural) district Superintendent of Police J.G. Murali on Sunday condemned the charges that he had amassed wealth illegally. Speaking to reporters before being shifted to Cherlapally jail, Mr. Murali said reports about his assets following the raid by ACB officials were exaggerated. "Some agencies reported I have earned crores of rupees but show me where are those properties if I really own them," asked the IPS officer. He maintained that his wife might have bought some immovable property without his knowledge. "ACB officials seem to have mistaken the assets bought by my son with his hard-earned money for mine. Anyway, investigation will bring out facts," he said.
9 acres of farm land
The IPS officer claimed that he bought nine acres of agricultural land after securing permission from the Government. He condemned reports connecting him to some persons facing criminal charges. The SP maintained that he put behind bars several anti-social elements and there was no question of having any links with such anti-social elements. ACB Inspector C.S. Srikrishnudu said investigations conducted so far revealed that Mr. Murali owned assets worth Rs. 54 lakhs.
