HYDERABAD: District Collectors can collect free Telugu software CDs and booklets with guidelines issued by the Andhra Pradesh Official Language Commission on usage of the language for people's benefit, before May 2. In letters to the Collectors, A.B.K. Prasad, Commission Chairman, said they could depute a staffer with an authorisation letter and list names of division and mandal-level officials to collect the CDs and guidelines from his office in the Secretariat. He said the aim of releasing the CDs and booklets was to enable Government staff to totally implement Telugu at official level. The CDs could be loaded only in computers with Windows XP System. He said private institutions offering computer courses could also collect the CDs.
