Delimitation opposed

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: A large number of persons, mostly farmers, urged the Delimitation Commission not to disturb the Hassan Lok Sabha and Holenarsipur Assembly constituencies.

K.H. Javare Gowda, former MP from the district, said Kadur Assembly segment from the neighbouring Chickmaglur district had been included in the Hassan Lok Sabha Constituency in the draft.

He said Tiptur and Turuvekere Assembly segments could be included in the Lok Sabha constituency. Farmers were unhappy that Halli Mysore was sought to be transferred to Arakalgud Assembly Constituency. As many as 153 representations were submitted from Holenarasipura.
