A marathon for charity and fun

Staff Reporter

The midnight event will be held in Whitefield on May 19

  • Races include full- and half-marathons and a fun run
  • Performances by bands, artistes will be added attractions

BANGALORE: Who said Saturday nights are only meant to live it up? On May 19, Bangalore will be host to midnight marathon events organised jointly by Crossover Sports and Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor.

This charity run will be organised in Whitefield and the start and finish point will be on the iGate Global Solutions campus.

Although there have previously been extremely successful runs in Bangalore, this one, according to Neeraj Verma, the Race Director, "is a cut above the rest as it is not about running but about having fun". There are added attractions such as performances by college and professional bands, folk artistes, cheerleaders and fire-eaters.

The events will include a full-marathon of 42.195 km, a half-marathon of 21.1 km and a fun run of only 5.4 km.

Registration forms are available at International Technology Park Limited (ITPL) and Sree Kanteerava Stadium. They can also be bought online at www.coindia.com.

The registration fee is Rs. 150 for all the races. Details on the timings, marathon map and the break-up of prize money can be viewed on the website.
