CHENNAI: The IPS Officers Association, Tamil Nadu chapter, has appealed to political parties not to make personal attacks on senior bureaucrats and police officers. The association's executive, which met under the chairmanship of president R. Nataraj here on Monday, resolved that it had become necessary to make the appeal because of the recent personal attacks on senior police officers and the Police Department. At times, senior officers handling sensitive departments were vehemently criticised. "Bureaucrats and police officers have long tenures of service and serve various governments. They stick to the principles of clean administration at all times." Repeated personal attacks on senior officers will thoroughly demoralise the bureaucracy and ultimately affect police functioning, an association release said.
