BANGALORE: The Congress on Tuesday dismissed as a "rumour" media reports about a possible political realignment in the State as a result of an understanding between the party and the Janata Dal (Secular) to pull down the coalition government headed by H.D. Kumaraswamy. Addressing presspersons at the May Day celebrations organised by the Labour Cell of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) here, KPCC president M. Mallikarjun Kharge said there was no truth in the reports about the Congress and the JD(S) coming together again to form the government again. Asked whether the party was ready to form the government with the JD(S), Mr. Kharge said, "It is a hypothetical question. Let us see when it comes to such a situation."
Ruled out
Minister for Forests and Janata Dal (S) leader C. Chennigappa on Tuesday said there was no question of joining hands with the Congress again. Speaking to reporters before participating in the May Day function at the party office here, Mr. Chennigappa accused Congress leaders of setting off such a speculation to create confusion among people about the stability of the coalition government. The Minister appealed to people not to take the speculation seriously.
