YC panels to be revamped

Correspondent

`No place for those above 35 years'

  • Activists will strive to address people's problems
  • Party ticket for two workers in each district

Kakinada: There is a need to revamp a majority of city Youth Congress committees in the State, according to T. Sudhakara Babu, president of the State Youth Congress Committee.

At a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Babu said that he would reorganise the committees by encouraging young and committed workers. "Those above 35 years will be replaced despite pressures being exerted against the move." In East Godavari district, he said the committees failed to spread the message of the party and the progress achieved by the government among people. "All the good work done during the past two and half years failed to reach the people.

    Strong force

Hereafter, Youth Congress workers will act as a liaison between the people and the government and strive for addressing the people's grievances," he said. Reiterating that the Youth Congress would emerge as a force to reckon with in the next few months and stand solidly behind Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in carrying out his developmental schemes and welfare activities, Mr. Sudhakara Babu said that the services of committed workers would be recognised. At least two Youth Congress workers in each district would be given party ticket in the next Assembly elections, he said and added that the high command had already given an assurance to this effect.

The reorganisation of all the committees at all levels would be completed by the month-end. District Youth Congress president M. Mohan, secretary T. Naidu and others attended.
