School's good show brings award

`Education gives confidence and strength to face situations'

KORAPUT: Aravali House of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Koraput bagged the champion's award for its all-round performance last year.

While Madhusmita Samal was awarded with the school's pride award, Sidheswari Pangi of VII standard received a special prize for scoring 100 per cent in all subjects in one of the unit test examinations held last year.

Annual function

The school celebrated its 21st annual function on its premises. Harekrushna Behera, ADM of Koraput, attended as chief guest while Harihoro Korosudha Patnaik, the founder principal of the institution, addressed students.

Mr. Patnaik said: "education gives confidence and strength to face situations. Mahatma Gandhi had challenged violence by being non-violent and Bhagat Singh faced the death sentence with courage and dignity.

Total success

These were possible because of the quality of education they had received, he said. The school achieved total success in last year's XII CBSE Board examination, S.K. Tripathy, principal of the school, said.

The school, being equipped with V-Sat connection, science laboratory, library, a multi gym among other facilities provided by the government was attracting students from all over the district, he said.
