`No inquiry against TDP legislator'

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: City Police Commissioner Balwinder Singh on Tuesday clarified that the police were not carrying out investigation against Telugu Desam MLA E. Dayakar Rao in connection with the fake passport case.

Referring to reports appearing in some Telugu newspapers, the Commissioner said the city police was not aware of the source of the information, adding that they had not provided it.

Mr. Singh gave the clarification after seven TDP legislators led by Mr. Rao met him at his office.
