Eight gram panchayats to get Nirmal Gram Puraskar

Sarpanches concerned will receive the award from the President on May 4

KARIMNAGAR: Eight gram panchayats of Karimnagar district have been selected to for the prestigious Nirmal Gram Puraskar for achieving cent percent sanitation and implementation of individual sanitary latrine (ISL) scheme in villages.

Sarpanches who have secured the awards include; V. Anjani Prasad on behalf of his mother, Goliramaiahpalli village of Ramadugu mandal, B. Kirankumar, Dundrupalli village of Boinpalli mandal, P. Ratnakara Rao, Vallabhpur, Elkathurthy mandal, G. Shankaraiah (Banjerupalli, Husnabad, D. Ramana Reddy, Chinnapapaiahpalli, Huzurabad, B. Murali, Mohinikunta, Mustabad, P. Bhuamaiah, Ramhanumannagar,

Thimmapur mandal and Edla Radha of Laxmidevipalli village of Thimmapur mandal. All these awardees will receive the Puraskar from President A.P.J. Kalaam on May 4 in New Delhi. The award carries a cash prize, a citation, and a memento.

Last financial year, three gram panchayats received the Nirmal Gram Puraskar from the district. ZP Chairman A. Mohan and CEO Guruvaiah congratulated the sarpanches for winning the prestigious award.
