Two youths' death in garage
|
CHENNAI
: The forensic investigation into the deaths of two young men inside a car parked in a garage at Ayanavaram a fortnight ago has found inhalation of carbon monoxide was the cause of death, according to the police.
The investigating officer, Purushothaman said on Tuesday that Forensic Sciences Department tests had confirmed that Ramu and Madhavan had died of carbon monoxide inhalation.
The two mechanics had put down the garage's shutter in the evening and stayed in the car with the air-conditioner on.
They were found dead by a colleague the next morning.
Ayanavaram police had registered a case of unnatural death.
The preliminary probe had suggested that the deaths could be due to insufficient levels of oxygen needed for proper combustion.
The 300 sq.ft. garage had little ventilation and that could have led to accumulation of lethal levels of carbon monoxide, police said.
