Cognizant first quarter net income up

CHENNAI: Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation reported on Wednesday that the revenue for the first quarter increased to $460.3 million from $424.4 million in the fourth quarter of 2006, and up 61 per cent from $285.5 million in the first quarter of 2006. GAAP net income was $75.4 million as compared to $47.2 million in the first quarter of 2006. Revenue in Europe grew 84 per cent from the first quarter of 2006.
