BJP demands closure of Divine Centre

Krishnadas says the centre is functioning like an underworld

KANNUR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president P.K. Krishnadas has demanded closure of the Muringur Divine Centre in the wake of the alleged findings of the police that conducted investigation on the instruction of the High Court.

Mr. Krishnadas, who was on the third day of his `Jana Yathra' from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday, told a press conference here that the police investigation had revealed shocking information as to the functioning of the Divine Centre. As many as 974 had died at the centre over the last six years, he said adding that there were also allegations of sexual abuse.

He alleged that both the UDF and the LDF were backing the Divine Centre which, he said, was functioning like an underworld.

Mr. Krishnadas said the State Government should be prepared to revive the Thiruvepathy Mill here which had been remaining closed for the last eight years.
