MANGALORE: The Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samiti, Mangalore, will construct a "Brahmasthanam" (temple) on the premises of Mata Amritanandamayi Math on Sulthan Bathery Road, Boloor, here. Poornamritnanda Puri swamiji, a devotee of Mata Amritanandamayi, will lay the foundation stone for the brahmasthanam on Friday. President of the samiti Jeevaraj Sorake told presspersons here on Wednesday that the samiti also wanted to rebuild at least 20 houses for the benefit of people from economically backward sections of society residing in the vicinity of the math on revenue land. The samiti also intended to set up a self-employment training centre on the math premises, he said. The entire project was expected to cost nearly Rs. 1 crore, Dr. Sorake said and added that the construction of the brahmasthanam and 10 houses would be completed in six months. This will be the fourth brahmasthanam in Karnataka. A "Sarvaishwarya yajna" would be held. A religious discourse programme would be held at T.V. Raman Pai Convention Centre on Friday, he added.
