Staff Reporter

TAMBARAM : A bus hired by a group of devotees of Pattabhiram near Avadi rammed into a parked lorry at Urapakkam near Vandalur on Grand Southern Trunk Road on Tuesday morning, killing one of its passengers.

A group of about 50 people of Pattabhiram had hired the private bus and were returning home after a tour of temples in nearby districts.

The lorry was heading to a logistics company and was parked on the roadside, as security personnel at the company did not allow it inside. T. Rajamanickam was one of the nine injured and he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Government Hospital.
