CJM directive to police surgeon

Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) S. Soman has directed the police surgeon of Kottayam Medical College to handover the original post-mortem examination register of Sr. Abhaya to the court before May 15.

Abhaya, a 21-year-old nun, was found dead in the well of the Pious X Convent in Kottayam in March 1992.

The directive comes in the wake of a petition filed before the Magistrate by human rights activist Joemon Puthepurakkal alleging discrepancy in the chemical and post-mortem examination reports of the victim.
