HYDERABAD: Renowned magician Jadugar Anand plans to perform the challenging feat of escaping from a sealed box thrown into the water. He has chosen the Hussain Sagar to showcase his skills to people of twin cities but he is still waiting for clearance from the Government. Speaking to reporters at "Meet the Press" organised by the Press Club Hyderabad here on Wednesday, the magician said he had performed it earlier in the Narmada at Jabalpur at the age of 19. Since the act involves a helicopter, permission has to come from various Government agencies. Mr. Anand, who is performing in the city with his `Mayalok' team, including 120-member troupe, said the show has several new features and items that are not seen by Hyderabadis so far. Some of the new tricks that he has added include `Magical appearance of an elephant', `Disappearance of `Statue of Liberty' in slow motion and a character coming out of a movie to perform tricks and going back to the screen again. A total of 65 items are being presented. With 27,000 shows in more than 36 countries in America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa to his credit, Mr. Anand feels Hyderabadi youngsters have a lot of interest in magic and a magic school could be started here. He said a magic school is being planned at Jaipur where he would train people with all professionalism. The shows in the city are on at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. daily till May 13.
